The Northeast Regional Defense Technology Hub (NORDTECH) facilitates microelectronics fabrication and prototyping using a regional network of cleanrooms and manufacturing-relevant facilities. Led by Cornell University, IBM, NY CREATES, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the University at Albany, our consortium has nearly 200 hub participants and decades of expertise across the AI Hardware, Secure Edge Computing, Quantum and Commercial Leap Ahead Technical Areas. Through lab-to-fab prototyping projects and relevant workforce development initiatives, NORDTECH is supporting US leadership in advanced microelectronics.
NORDTECH’s mission: NORDTECH expands the nation’s global leadership in microelectronics by accelerating ‘lab-to-fab’ prototypes through expert teaming on priority projects which leverage the scalable capacity of the membership’s shared expertise and core facility infrastructure, thereby enabling faster transition to microelectronics manufacturers to support both defense and commercial applications.
